Shikari Gajji Sari | Vermillion
Vermillion satin sari with hand drawn batik. This double-dyed sari consists of yellow and white dots on a vermillion base in the Shikari pattern- a traditional tie-dyed (bandhani) design of scrolling vines with a floral centre, interpreted in batik. The borders of the sari have Amba or mango patterns in the same dotted language as the body. The lower end of the pallu is plain, in contrast to the body, with a thin line of gold pitta (beaten metal) embroidery work which also runs along the selvedge of the sari.
